Weight Check - 2nds Please!

So we took Ahnika in for her 3 month weight check and she came in at a whopping 11 pounds 4 ounces. She is sticking to her rate of gaining about 2 pounds a month. It will be interesting to see where she comes in next....

Ahnika's 1st Dip

Since the weather here has been in the 90's for almost the past month, we decided to get Ahnika's pool out, that we purchased last fall on super clearance.

The video below is of Ahnika's 1st time in the pool.

Baby Ahnika Decides to Talk, Or At Least Start Down That Path.....

So apparently, Ahnika decided today that she was going to be a little music box and started making all kinds of new sounds. Apparently, she was making noises all day and afternoon for Jaci (and her new favorite toy is a cloth diaper that we use as a burp cloth).

Luckily, Jaci got some of the action on tape:

Ahnika Goes to 1st Baseball Game

On Saturday night, we took Ahnika to her first baseball game (game for the Huntsville Stars - AA Minor League Baseball Team). Even though the Stars sucked (lots of errors and only 1 hit in 7 innings), everyone still had a good time.....

Amazingly, the game put Ahnika to sleep? Can't imagine how that could happen, with how fast-paced baseball is?

I think I look like I was having a bit more fun than Jaci was (but it was close).......
During the game, Ahnika was really getting into baseball and even did her best "bobblehead" impression....

But that wasn't her favorite part of the game, the best part was when they played "Who Let The Dogs Out" (Ahnnie girls new favorite song)....

Ahnika Sporting Some Previous Gifts

Now that Ahnika has actually passed 10 pounds and graduated away from Newborn sized clothes, she is actually getting to where some of the items that she was given.

Below is Ahnika in one of her pairs of "cool" socks....

And below is Ahnika getting her first (and definitely not last) taste of designer clothing (always nice to see Ahnika in an outfit that is not completely dominated by pink).

Mom & Dad's 1st Night Out

On Saturday, May 30th, Jaci and I left Ahnika for the first time (in the very capable hands of my in-laws - Jaci paid me to say it that way) and went up to Madison, Wisconsin to attend the wedding of an old college friend and former Groomsman of mine, Michael McCarty (aka Boner)....

The Wedding was at 1:00 pm and by 2:30 pm we were together with the old college dormmates, eating and drinking.....

The picture below was taken early in the evening, I know this because of the next picture (picture below is Tyler, Kirk and his fiance Molly)....

This was a picture of Tyler later on in the evening, closer to 10:00 pm (or about 7 1/2 hours after we had all started drinking).....

Have you ever met someone that moved into a house and had it burn down 3 months later, destroying virtually everything they own? Well, meet Kirk & Molly (couldn't have happened to a nicer couple unfortunately).....

The picture below is of Carolyn, Scottie & Eric (Eric is pretty bold, he is paying his way to go to Tanzania, Africa for 1 month to help educate kids there)..... We hope that he does not get eaten by a lion or Malaria.... Seriously.....
Now, Jaci put on a show for her parents by calling 3 times early in the day to check-up on Ahnika..... Now you tell me, does she look like an overly concered mom?
Let me ask that question again, does Jaci look like a worried mom, or someone who is letting loose and having fun? It was good to have a night away from the responsibilities of the real world, not that we don't love our baby girl, but "she can be a bit much sometimes" (if you know what movie that quote is from, a gold star to you)....

Ahnika with Wrist Rattles

Jaci put some wrist rattles onto Ahnika the other day, since she has become quite active with her arms. Its kind of hard to show in a picture, but she loved the rattling sound that would happen when she was "flailing" her arms.....

Musical Ahnika?

Ahnika is more than a one trick pony, turns out she has a little bit more than just gangsta in her.......

"Hey party people, do you know what time is it"?

"Its disco time baby".......

This is the effect of letting your wife listen to the oldies radio station, where they play songs like YMCA from the Village People......

Ahnnie's Pimped Out Ride

Ahnika was very excited to get her very own yellow Cadillac (Bob top-of-the-line Jogging Stroller)...... Jaci was very excited as well, so much so that we actually made a seperate road-trip up to REI in Nashville (2 hours away) to pick it up and take Ahnika for a ride.....

You might not be able to tell, but Ahnika was just bursting with excitement to take the Bob for a ride.....

Please notice the wet pavement in the background of the picture below. Jaci was so excited to get home with the stroller, since we could now go jogging together, that we decided to take our very first run with Ahnika while it was slightly "spitting" outside.... Of course, just as we got to the 1/2 way point (and where the farthest from home), it started to pour outside. This encouraged us to run again (as we had already started walking) because we were afraid someone would call social services on us for taking a baby out in the pouring rain.....

Anyone Want to See New Pictures?

The series of three pictures below has one of two possible descriptions: 1) Ahnika has started to be able to control her limbs and has recently discovered her mouth; or 2) sometimes we forget to feed Ahnika for half a day or so and she has to try and nibble on whatever she can get to her mouth.....
In the picture below, Ahnika realizes that she has been caught trying to put her entire fist into her mouth..... Then comes the moment of truth, knowing she is caught, what will she do?

Continue to try and get her entire fist into her mouth, because after all, she has already been caught trying to do it, no harm in continuing right?

Sometimes you feel like a soft, squishy pillow under your head and sometimes its just more comfortable to be all sprawled out on the bed...
